Final new features opening at Smale Park

Smale Riverfront Park's final new features debut this Thursday with an all-out "festival," according to Cincinnati Parks officials.

The Castellini Esplanade, Great Lawn, Vine Street Water Garden, Ohio Riverwalk and Portland Loo will open at 10:30 a.m.

There will be a farmers market featuring Findlay Market vendors, some food giveaways and ready-made lunches to buy.

A free "Zinzinnati Zumba" class will be held on the Great Lawn at 11:30 a.m.

Around the park there will be face painters, jugglers and balloon artists, too.

This is the final opening of nearly a dozen attractions at the park this spring and summer, which included an indoor carousel, kid's adventure playground, the giant foot piano and a flying pig.

The park is located at the base of the Roebling Suspension Bridge between the Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium.
