The driver in Saturday's deadly truck crash in Bracken County has been cited with driving under the influence, six counts of wanton endangerment and other charges, according to a release from Kentucky State Police.

Matthew Gilbert, 27, crashed into a tree on Kentucky State Route 539 around 2 p.m., police said.

Jacob Ammerman, 19, of Falmouth was sitting in the back seat behind the driver and was found dead at the scene, according to the release.

Gilbert, also of Falmouth, and five other people who were in the vehicle during the wreck were transported to University of Cincinnati and University of Kentucky Medical Centers, police said.

Gilbert was also cited with not wearing a seatbelt or producing an insurance card, police said.

The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Trooper Charles Wagner.

Wagner will be meeting with the Bracken County Commonwealth Attorney to discuss any further charges in this collision.
