A job fair for the deaf and hard of hearing will be held Wednesday.

The event is hosted by Community Services for the Deaf, a department of the Hearing Speech & Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati. The job fair also will commemorate Deaf Awareness Month and HSDC’s 90th year of operations.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Red Cross’ Cincinnati chapter at 2111 Dana Ave. in Evanston.

Deaf-friendly companies are seeking deaf and/or hard of hearing employees. Representatives from Cintas, DHL, FedEx, Kroger and Staff Management/SMX will be on site to screen and interview prospective workers.

HSDC will provide American Sign Language interpreters and information regarding communication devices, assistive listening devices and resume building will also be available.

The deaf and hard of hearing population often face employment challenges because of communication obstacles.
