Man shot in chest in Winton Hills drive-by

Police investigate a shooting occurred steps away from a memorial for Demetrius Elliott on Monday. Elliott was fatally shot Saturday.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the chest in Winton Hills Monday in what police are calling a drive-by.

The shooting was reported at approximately 10 p.m. near the Dutch Colony Drive memorial for 22-year-old Demetrius Elliott, who was shot and killed Saturday.

Authorities are looking for a black Chevrolet Tahoe SUV in connection to the shooting.

The incident marks the fourth shooting on June 1 and the 15th shooting in the past seven days in the Cincinnati area.

The victim was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with one gunshot, police said. His condition is unknown.

"We're doing our best to try to get resources to where we think the violence may occur and try to put a stop to it," Cincinnati police Lt. Mark Burns said at the scene.
