1 dead, 1 injured in Walnut Hills shooting

Cincinnati police investigate a reported double shooting Tuesday night.

A man is dead and an innocent bystander is injured after two suspects opened fire in Walnut Hills on Tuesday night, according to police.

Cincinnati police responded to a double shooting in the 800 block of Oak Street at approximately 7 p.m., dispatchers said.

Melvin Campbell, 28, and the bystander were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to a press release.

Campbell died in the hospital and the bystander is expected to recover, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and no suspect information was available.
