Victims injured in barn collapse expected to survive

The four people injured Friday when a barn under construction collapsed in Miami Township are expected to survive, officials said.

A seven-person crew was working to build a barn when several large trusses collapsed just after 2:30 p.m., according to the Miami Township Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to the 5500 block of Mt. Zion Road. One person was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with hip and chest injuries. Three more people were taken to Bethesda North Hospital.

The structure was about 36 feet tall, officials said. It's unclear what caused the accident.
