Officials of The Christ Hospital at last unveiled Tuesday long-anticipated plans to build a large hospital in Butler County's fast-growing Liberty Township. Opening is pegged for 2017.

The hospital didn't say how many rooms the hospital will have, nor a total dollar amount for the project.

"We look forward to extending our reach and convenient access to exceptional medical care to our patients and consumers in Butler County," Mike Keating, president and chief executive officer of The Christ Hospital Health Network, said in a statement announcing the project.

Butler County, with its growing population, is developing a major health care corridor along Interstate 75.. The new Christ Hospital facility will be one mile north of UC Health's West Chester Hospital. Those two centers are five miles east of TriHealth's Bethesda Butler complex. The new Christ Hospital building also will be just east of the I-75 interchange at Ohio 129 from the Liberty Campus of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

The Christ Hospital Health Network released a site plan Tuesday in announcing plans to build a new hospital in Butler County.

The statement Tuesday from The Christ Hospital said the Liberty Township hospital will have operating rooms with extended recovery for patients, an emergency room, comprehensive radiology imaging, outpatient therapies and physician services: primary care, orthopedics, cardiology, and urology.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for this fall with the ribbon-cutting set for winter 2017. A 125,000-square-foot site plan and other planning documents have been submitted to the Liberty Township trustees for review.

The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township project is being completed in collaboration with Brandicorp, national leading architectural firms HKS Inc. and GBBN Architects; Danis Building Co., the projects construction manager, and the civil engineering firm Bayer Becker.
