Cincinnati Reds right fielder Jay Bruce (32) celebrates with Todd Frazier (21) and Marlon Byrd (9) after hitting a three-run home run against the Milwaukee Brewers.

MARYVALE, Ariz. — The Reds beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 10-4, behind 13 hits, including a three-run home run from Jay Bruce.

The arms: Right-hander Michael Lorenzen started and went four innings. He allowed one run on four hits. He walked two and struck out two.

All of the damage came in the first inning.

Burke Badenhop gave up two runs in the seventh. He's allowed at least a run in five of eight appearances this spring.

The bats: The Reds didn't have a hit until Marlon Byrd's flyball dropped between three Brewers in center. The next hitter, Bruce, hit one out to left-center for a three-run home run. Bruce perfectly inside-outed the ball for his third home run of the spring. The Reds added five runs in the sixth. Four straight hits from Bruce, Brayan Pena, Billy Hamilton and Zack Cozart keyed the rally.

Cozart had three hits on the day.

The rest: Todd Frazier went toward the line to field Khris Davis' hot shot. He made a strong throw to get Davis by a step. Lorenzen got a break in the second: A long double by pitcher Mike Fiers would have scored a run, but the ball bounced over the fence for a ground-rule double.

Up next: The Reds will be at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Johnny Cueto (0-2, 3.00 ERA) makes his final tune-up start before Opening Day. Right-hander Josh Collmenter will start for the D'backs in the 4:05 p.m. game on WSAI (1360-am).
