A Walnut Hills High School student is among four teens charged in a robbery plot that officials say involved a gun, surgical gloves, duct tape, zip ties and a hatchet.

The 17-year-old is charged in Hamilton County Juvenile Court in connection with a plot that officials say included two now-former Seven Hills High School seniors, David Morad and his twin sister, Alexis Morad.

The Morads, both 18, have been expelled, according to a school spokeswoman. Walnut Hills High School officials did not return a message seeking the 17-year-old's status with the college preparatory school.

The planned robbery didn't happen, court documents say, because David Morad and two others "were scared off prior to completing the act."

A fourth person charged in connection with the robbery was arrested Friday and still is in jail, records show. Dominique Jamarco Sims, 19, is accused of being involved in the planning. Sims and the Morad twins are charged as adults in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

The 17-year-old and David Morad were stopped by police April 7 for "suspicious behavior in a neighborhood with recent burglaries and 24-hour store robberies," court documents say.

After being stopped, court documents say, Morad indicated he had a loaded, .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun. The documents say Morad also was in possession of the latex gloves, duct tape and zip ties. Police believe the plan was to rob a home on Salem Road in Mount Washington.

The 17-year-old, who has no criminal record, is charged in juvenile court with possession of criminal tools and possession of marijuana. He has been released to the custody of his parents, court records say. His attorney, Steven Goodin, declined to comment.

David Morad's attorney, R. Scott Croswell III, declined to comment. Sims did not have an attorney listed Monday in court records.

Alexis Morad is accused of deleting information on her brother's smartphone as well as hiding physical evidence connected to the crime. In a recorded phone call from jail, she told him "she had done so," according to court documents.

She was arrested April 9 on charges of tampering with evidence, obstructing justice and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. Her attorney, John O'Shea, did not return messages seeking comment.

David Morad is free on a $110,000 bond. He also is charged in a separate armed robbery that officials say happened in late March or early April. He faces charges including aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. Alexis Morad is free on a $50,000 bond. The bonds were posted by their father, records show.
