Police: Adultery claim led to wife's stabbing

A Lincoln Heights man allegedly stabbed his wife early Monday morning because he believed she was cheating on him, police said.

William Lindsey, 73, was arrested after police responded to his home in the 1200 block of Dixie Court around 5 a.m.

Police discovered his wife, Virginia Lindsey, 59, suffering from six stab wounds to her arm and abdomen. She was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.

William Lindsey has been charged with attempted murder.

"I don't want to make what I did worse," he reportedly told police as he was arrested without incident. "I know I'm going to jail."
