Four men have been indicted in connection with a gun battle that resulted from a drug deal in Forest Park last week, police said.

Felonious assault charges have been filed against Jaylen Kinney, 22, Manuel Alvarez, 19, Kenneth English, 18, and Markeith Johnson, 18.

Kinney and Alvarez were allegedly attempting to make an illegal drug transaction with Johnson and English when the shooting occurred on June 23, according to court documents.

Kinney was shot five times in his back, torso and arms, police said. Johnson was shot once in leg.

Affidavits state Kinney admitted to police that he shot Johnson with a handgun, and English admitted to shooting Kinney with a .38 caliber revolver.

All four men were arrested the same day as the shooting.

The two suspected shooters, Kinney and English, are being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center on $300,000 bonds. The other men's bonds were set at $20,000.

Johnson is the only man to be released after posting his bond.

Both pairs of men are scheduled to appear in court on July 6 when their cases will be considered by a grand jury.
