Forecast: Near-freezing temps headed our way

An already cool week will become downright cold Friday night when the temperature is forecast to dip into the mid- to low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook Tuesday morning for the possibility of "unseasonable cool" and freezing temperatures forecast to arrive by week's end.

Friday night marks the first of at least three consecutive nights in which the region is forecast to see lows in the 30s. Outlying areas in Greater Cincinnati's suburbs are forecast to approach 32 degrees, or freezing temperatures.

Friday's low will drop to 38 degrees before Cincinnati's weekend-low temperature of 34 arrives Saturday night.

Mason is expected to drop to as low as 33 degrees Saturday, while Florence is expected to hit 35.

Sunday also is expected to reach into the high 30s.

Prior to Friday, nighttime lows will hover in the mid- to low 40s. Lows of 46 degrees, 43 degrees and 47 degrees with rain are forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, respectively.

High temperatures through the end of the week will stay in the mid-60s, save for a forecast Thursday high of 70 degrees. Skies also will be mostly clear during daytime hours.

Thursday: Sunny, chance of showers during overnight hours before 1 a.m. High temperature around 69 degrees, low temperature around 47 degrees.

Friday: Mostly sunny. High temperature around 62 degrees, low temperature around 39 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. High temperature around 55 degrees, low temperature around 35 degrees.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. High temperature around 57 degrees, low temperature around 38 degrees.

Monday: Mostly sunny. High temperature around 63 degrees.
