A 35-year-old man underwent surgery early Tuesday after he was shot in the stomach in South Fairmount, Cincinnati police said.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after authorities found him on the floor inside an apartment building, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.
"We don't have much," Brown said about what led up to the incident.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Harrison Avenue near the border of Westwood and South Fairmount, he said.
At 5 a.m., the man was still in surgery fighting for his life, Brown said.
No arrests have been made.
