4 arrested in home invasion, shooting

A woman was shot in the head and pepper sprayed after five masked people broke into an apartment on Michigan Avenue in Dry Ridge on Sunday night, according to Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police said they have arrested Daniel Swope, 19, and three juveniles. Swope has been charged with burglary, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

The investigation is still open and there are "possibly more individuals involved," police said.

Police arrived at the apartment at 9:30 p.m. after the assailants fled with a small amount of money, said officer David Jones.

The bullet grazed the woman's head and she was transported by medical helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She is in stable condition, according to police.
