A green Lego was placed in Fountain Square.

Greater Cincinnati is turning into one giant play room, thanks to some mysterious and massive Lego pieces.

These enlarged interlocking bricks have been scattered in public spaces around the city in the last couple days, from Fountain Square to Union Terminal to Carol Ann's Carousel in Smale Riverfront Park. And more are being dropped off Tuesday in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The only clue? Each Lego is labeled with a #WhatTheBrick.

This playful installation does have a purpose beyond a hilarious hashtag: It's all leading up to an announcement at the Cincinnati Museum Center on Thursday.

The #WhatTheBrick effort comes on the heels of another whimsical public art project in the Queen City. The 'Staches on Parade statues were installed in honor of July's All-Star Game.
