Emergency officials battled the elements while fighting a Colerain Township blaze Wednesday night.

Firefighters responded to the 5900 block of Sheits Road around 10 p.m. for a structure fire, according to emergency communications. Reports from authorities at the scene indicated flames were coming through the roof and that each room in the house was on fire.

Authorities said the blaze was under control just before midnight. They did not confirm the cause of the fire.

Officials could not immediately confirm if anyone was injured during the fire.

Snow more than likely made for a tricky drive to the residence, but the problems didn't stop there.

A water tanker became stuck in snow at the scene around 10:55 p.m. In response, authorities filed a priority request to Hamilton County for Sheits Road to be plowed.

Firefighters were running low on water throughout the incident and ran out of completely around 10:15 p.m. At least 10 water tankers were called to the scene. Tankers from Indiana were also prepared to respond.

Sheits Road was closed between Brehm and Blue Rock roads for almost two hours.
