West Chester police search for missing girl

West Chester police are searching for a 15-year-old girl reported missing Friday, according to her father, Rob Buchanan.

Skylar Buchanan wasn't present when her after-school program at the Lakota East High School's freshman building let out Friday, her father said, and she hasn't attended school since.

Friends say they haven't heard from Skylar since Sunday, Rob Buchanan said. Skylar's friends had reported communicating with her during the weekend and her whereabouts were never confirmed.

"When she went missing, I hoped for the best thinking she went to a friend's house," Rob Buchanan said. "I understand that teenagers go through problems, and I just want her to come home and be safe. We love her."
