Ciara Roberts, who owns Brows by Ciara inside Salon Rhonda on Hyde Park Square, made an appearance on Steve Harvey's talk show Thursday to talk about her love life. Think Bachelorette, the Cincinnati version. Reporter Sharon Coolidge, a friend of Ciara's, helped pick the perfect guy for her.

They share their experience here:

Sharon: We met three years ago through a mutual friend and we instantly clicked. I love hearing about your dating exploits. And, of course, I hope I give you good advice. How would you describe your love life?

Ciara: My dating life is sporadic. I'll have a renewed interest in dating every few months and will go out on some first dates. Second dates are few and far between and my last actual relationship ended two years ago.

Sharon: What did you think when your mom wrote to Steve Harvey?

Ciara: She has written to talk shows before for co-workers and always wanted to go on Oprah, but I was surprised she wrote about me. It's not really something I would have ever pictured myself doing. And I was upset that she would expose me like that. I didn't want to be on TV talking, especially talking about something so personal.

Sharon: Steve reached out to me and some of your other friends to help him. It was so hard to keep it a secret that we were basically Chicago bound for our very own Steve Harvey-hosted Cincinnati version of the bachelorette, starring you! It was all very glamorous. There was a limo and hair and make-up and prep lines about what we were supposed to say. What did you think when you saw your friends were there?

Ciara: I was too nervous to think anything … it was pure shock. I felt so anxious and exposed. Once I realized what was happening I felt a wave a relief and gratitude. Like the universe was telling me to relax, my people are here.

Sharon: Both guys – Del Weldon and Bryan Davis – were amazing. It was tough for us to pick one. But we chose Weldon for you. He lives Downtown and is a partner in a Dearborn law firm. So… what happened?

Ciara: We did go out when we got back to Cincinnati. He took me to Maggiano's Little Italy. We didn't really hit it off though, so I'm currently single. I still think he's a catch though.

Sharon: Like the Bachelorette, I think you have a surprise twist ending. Do tell.

Ciara: I did go out with the other bachelor a few times. We definitely have a spark, but the timing isn't right for us to start anything right now.

Sharon: What did you learn from being on the show?

Ciara: Sometimes life will push you in the right direction, even if you're hesitant to go. That I love my friends more than I even realized and that my mother is crazy, in a beautiful and endearing way.
