It now seems likely we'll see snow on Christmas this year.

While other parts of the country will be dealing with major rain and snow heading into the holiday travel season, Greater Cincinnati will have milder weather - though still a chance of rain early in the week. And there's a 30 percent chance we'll have a White Christmas.

Monday's high will be even warm at 50 and the temperatures will continue to climb throughout the night into Tuesday, when it is expected to get up to 55 degrees.

But rain is expected along with those warmer temperatures, as the National Weather Service in Wilmington is calling for a nearly 50 percent chance of light rain starting Tuesday morning.

That rain is expected to stick around through Christmas Eve, mixing with snow showers late that night. On Christmas morning, rain and snow will taper into snow flurries by the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper-30s. Skies should clear by Christmas night.

The National Weather Service says that there has been at least one inch of snow on the ground Christmas morning only six times between 1981-2010.

The Cincinnati averages for Dec. 25 are a high of 39, a low of 25, and 0.11 inches of precipitation, including an average of just 0.2 inches of snow.
